The Ultimate Outlaw
“Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won’t adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words “make” and “stay” become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free.”

DIY Lights

I was planning on trying to make this chandelier this week, but it seems they took down the directions on how to make it....not so happy.
I lied. I found them. Now I just need to get all the stuff to make it.

Luck of the Irish
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
...
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
...
May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,
May good luck pursue you each morning and night.
...
May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.
...
An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hold onto one blade of grass
to keep from falling off the earth.
...
May luck be our companion
May friends stand by our side
May history remind us all
Of Ireland's faith and pride.
May God bless us with happiness
May love and faith abide.
Happy St.Patty's Day!

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing
I can't wait for iced coffee, days at the beach, Del's Lemonade following the beach, outside showers, grilling fresh vegetables, and sitting on the deck with an after the beach cocktail....
and the SUN!
Oh, how Rhode Island of me!

A Little of This, A Little of That
I didn't already give up on my commitment to cook from my cook books. I swear as it is one of my goals to eat healthier, more natural, and organic this year. Thank you "Food, Inc." This past Sunday I made my own marinara sauce and Eggplant Rollatinis from Giada De Laurentis' Everyday Italian cook book, but I was not totally sold on either and they still need some work. Maybe I need to actually wait until tomatoes and eggplants are in season here?

Time Flies
I started this blog a year ago. I wasn't sure why or for what purpose, except that I needed purpose. I needed a direction and like in many other aspects of my life, I needed to talk it out. I have always had journals and still do, but the difference being that this forces me to stick to something. It forces me to own it. I can put my thoughts, work, or ideas out there and know that I'm not the only one reading it.
This past year has been a journey. When I go back and reread some of the posts, I realize how far I have come and how much farther I can still go. So here's to the year ahead. It is filled with uncertainty, but so is life.

Losing Keys

I’ve been losing lots of keys lately,
I don’t know what that means
But maybe I'd be better off with things that can’t be locked at allI don’t know what that means
I’ve been feeling kind of sea sick lately,
See you reaching to me gonna save me
You were me, I would much rather take the fall
The world has its ways
To quite us down
The world has its ways
To quiet us down comes the rain
Down comes our spirits again
But Down comes the strength
To lift us up and then…
Been going up when now
For to long
Forget how To let go
Seems to hard
To late now
To turn around
"Losing Keys" Jack Johnson
Lately, I have been forgetting things. Leaving things behind. Preoccupied and can't seem to figure out why. Wondering, what's next? Where do I go from here? Which foot goes first? I have six months left of school. The end is on the horizon, which means the world should be my oyster, so why can't I help but wonder what that oyster is?

Art
I was digging through some old art this weekend, so click HERE to check it out. I was actually looking for something specific that I had drawn in high school. It is a picture of my Mom and her sister, Michaela, when they were little. I drew it from a black and white photo. I love it and I found it, but when I did I remembered my art teacher in high school had spilled coffee all over it (still makes me mad), but I will post a picture of it here. I tried getting some of the coffee off, but it seems to just be ruining the whole thing.

So here it is coffee stains and all...
