Summer Success

At the start of every season, I tend to make a list of the things I want to accomplish. This summer has been packed with things that I have wanted to do and some unexpected extras that have made it a summer to remember. Here was the list from the beginning of summer:

1. Sea Kayaking
2. Catch some live music at a vineyard
3. Go to the Newport Storm Brewery
4. New Hampshire zip lines
5. Jamestown fireworks (they are amazing)
6. James Taylor
7. Skydive
8. Take a surfing lesson
9. Camping
10. Day Trip of Martha's Vineyard

I have successfully completed six of the things on the list and substituted some other things that have been even better than what I had originally thought of. For example, camping on Prudence Island. I was able to do all this with the help of TB. Thank you for having the patience, determination, and energy to make my list come true. It has been a great summer and not many would happily go along for the ride like you have/would/and did.

From Stockbrige to Boston

I am so darn excited for tomorrow. It is finally time for James Taylor at Tanglewood. Even if a little hurricane is threatening to rain on my parade, I am going to love every minute of it. I am gonna have a hard time concentrating today on anything except getting ready for tomorrow (gotta pack a picnic and get the rain gear out). Have a great weekend!

Bring it on Danny!

Sunshine

This past year has been a tough one. I was laid off, which I never thought would happen. I have had battles and struggles, which I did not anticipate and seem to be coming to peace with. Although the thought of having to go through it again exhausts me, I wouldn't change it in the least bit. It has definitely made me a stronger, better person. Some times the best things come out of the times when you think that things could not get any worse. I am thankful that I can look back on those times and realize that I have grown and occasionally laugh at the craziness of it all. Looking back I realize I have/am:

* Become more confident in myself and my abilities
* Am excited to learn something new each day
* Learned to focus on the things that I can change
* To be patient with life
* Learned the important people in my life are there through the good times and especially there for me
during the bad

Finally, I feel like I am falling into place with myself. And honestly, this "journal" of sorts has been a great source of expression along the way.

Horoscope

So my horoscope today reads, "Your idealistic tendencies have evolved into your own full-fledged philosophy." Very interesting. Let's hope this said philosophy isn't too idealistic.

RI Favorites

One of my favorite things to do in RI is take a trip to a vineyard, preferably Sakonnet or Greenvale. The scenery is beautiful and occasionally the animals are entertaining...

Island Getaway

Here are some of my favorite pictures from a great weekend "away." Some times traveling within the state is just as good as getting out there if not better. It was an amazing weekend that ended a few days too soon.

A rhythm Within Myself

I love to cook. It is soothing, satisfying, and gets me in rhythm with myself. There is something about watching someone who is a great cook move through a kitchen with ease and confidence. One day I hope to have a large kitchen where my family can sit around while I move effortlessly through the kitchen making a meal to share.

Evolution of a Logo

Here are some of the logo ideas that I have been working on for my website. I am not super happy with any of these. They are a constant work in progress, but here they are.

Time

Time seems to be flying by and I cannot hold on to it. Next week I will be halfway through my second semester, in a blink of an eye summer will be over, and next thing I know the leaves will be changing and on to another semester. I feel like I cannot keep up with time. I miss summer already...

I have a couple projects from this semester to share, but for some reason I am still playing with them to make them perfect. I'm not sure what they are missing or why I feel this way. Maybe it is because time is slipping away.

Every once in a while I wish I had a dog. Lately it has been more than ever. I know I need to wait til I have a home of my own, a nice big yard, and a less hectic schedule.

Sweet Vibrations

Isn't it the most awesome thing when your ipod is on shuffle and it plays the perfect songs that coincide with your mood?

Hey Apple, maybe you should have an "app" for that?

French Fried Potatoes

This winter I had one of my favorite dates with TB. After skiing in New Hampshire, we went to McDonald's for french fries, which we got to eat next to a fireplace. Nicest McDonald's EVER! So simple, so impromptu and yet still helps me get through a Monday.
